Introduction

Summary

This applet models the behavior of a resonant system. The graph plots the solution of a second-order, constant coefficient differential equation in real time.
You can alter the different parameters in order to observe the different characteristic responses: transitory, steady state, resonance…

Goals

  • To describe what transient and a steady state solutions are
  • To describe the resonance phenomenon and phase differences.
